Metropolitan Unlimited Feature, Listing & Sponsorship Terms

Overview
These terms apply to businesses and organizations that purchase, apply for, submit information for, or otherwise participate in listings, editorial features, promotional placements, and sponsorship opportunities offered by Metropolitan Unlimited.
By submitting an application, purchasing a feature or listing, making a sponsorship payment, or otherwise participating in these programs, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to these terms.
1. Editorial Independence & Discretion
Metropolitan Unlimited is an editorial publication and maintains editorial independence over all content published on the platform.
Purchasing a feature, listing, sponsorship, or other promotional opportunity does not give the participating business editorial control over Metropolitan Unlimited content.
Metropolitan Unlimited reserves the right to:
Approve or decline businesses for publication
Determine article headlines, structure, writing style, length, formatting, and presentation
Edit, revise, summarize, fact-check, or reorganize information submitted by a business
Determine which submitted photographs or other media are used
Determine internal links, categories, tags, page placement, and positioning
Determine whether and where content receives additional exposure within the publication
Update content when necessary to maintain accuracy or editorial quality
Decline claims, statements, images, links, or other material that does not meet our editorial standards
Remove content that becomes inaccurate, misleading, unlawful, inappropriate, or inconsistent with Metropolitan Unlimited's editorial standards or community mission
Paid participation supports the creation and placement of the feature or promotional opportunity purchased. It does not purchase editorial opinions, endorsements, rankings, favorable reviews, or control over Metropolitan Unlimited's editorial conclusions.
2. Business Eligibility & Editorial Review
All businesses are subject to editorial review.
Metropolitan Unlimited primarily features reputable businesses, organizations, entrepreneurs, artists, professionals, attractions, and experiences that contribute positively to the communities we cover and are appropriate for our general audience.
We reserve the right to decline businesses that do not align with our editorial standards, audience, publication categories, community mission, or applicable laws and regulations.
If Metropolitan Unlimited Declines Your Business
If Metropolitan Unlimited determines during its initial review that your business cannot be accepted for the purchased feature or placement, and substantive work on the purchased service has not begun, payments made specifically for that service will be refunded.
This is an exception to our general no-refund policy.
3. Accuracy of Information
Participating businesses are responsible for providing accurate, complete, and current information.
This includes, where applicable:
Business name
Owner or representative information
Contact information
Business address and service area
Operating hours
Products and services
Pricing or promotional information
Website and social media links
Licensing or professional credentials when relevant
Business history and biographical information
Statements, claims, statistics, awards, or other information supplied for publication
Metropolitan Unlimited may independently verify information when appropriate but is not responsible for inaccuracies, omissions, outdated information, or misleading statements supplied by a participating business.
Businesses agree to promptly notify Metropolitan Unlimited of material factual changes that affect published content.
4. Content, Photography & Media Permission
By providing photographs, logos, videos, graphics, written materials, testimonials, or other media to Metropolitan Unlimited, you confirm that you own the material or have sufficient rights and permission to authorize its use.
You grant Metropolitan Unlimited permission to use, edit, crop, resize, format, reproduce, publish, and display submitted materials as reasonably necessary to create, publish, promote, and maintain your listing, feature, sponsorship, or related Metropolitan Unlimited content.
Metropolitan Unlimited may also reference publicly available information about a business for research, reporting, fact-checking, and editorial purposes, subject to applicable law and third-party rights.
Businesses remain responsible for ensuring they have permission to provide copyrighted photographs, logos, trademarks, testimonials, or other third-party materials.
5. Editorial Features
A Metropolitan Unlimited editorial feature is professionally created content about a participating business or organization.
Depending on the feature purchased, coverage may include:
The business or founder story
Products or services
Customer experience
Location and community connection
Relevant photographs and media
Links to the business website or appropriate social channels
SEO-focused page structure and metadata
Internal linking from relevant Metropolitan Unlimited content when editorially appropriate
Social media or homepage exposure when included or editorially appropriate
Specific inclusions vary by feature package and will be described on the applicable sales or product page at the time of purchase.
Publication Period
Feature publication periods are based on the package purchased.
For example, a standard Spotlight Feature may include 12 months of publication, while certain Founding Features or promotional programs may include longer publication periods.
The applicable sales page, checkout page, invoice, or written agreement controls the minimum publication period associated with a particular purchase.
Metropolitan Unlimited may elect to leave editorial content published beyond the guaranteed placement period at its discretion.
6. Listings
Listings and editorial features are different products.
A listing generally provides concise business information and placement within relevant Metropolitan Unlimited business or category pages.
An editorial feature provides expanded professionally written coverage of the business.
The exact benefits, duration, links, placement, and other inclusions associated with a listing will be described with the applicable offer.
Purchasing a listing does not automatically include a dedicated editorial feature unless specifically stated.
7. Founding & New-Market Features
Metropolitan Unlimited may periodically offer special Founding Feature opportunities in metropolitan areas where dedicated local coverage has not yet been established.
Eligibility for these offers is determined by Metropolitan Unlimited.
New-market pricing does not apply to businesses located within an established Metropolitan Unlimited market unless expressly stated.
If a business located within an established market purchases an offer specifically reserved for a new or unopened market, Metropolitan Unlimited may:
Apply the amount paid toward an eligible listing or other service; or
Offer the business the opportunity to upgrade to the appropriate feature by paying the difference between the amount already paid and the applicable feature price.
Founding, introductory, and new-market offers may be limited by city, metropolitan area, category, quantity, or time and may be discontinued when the applicable market or category becomes established.
8. Sponsorships
Sponsorships are premium opportunities that may provide expanded visibility across Metropolitan Unlimited.
Specific sponsorship benefits, placement, duration, category exclusivity, and pricing will be established before purchase or confirmation.
Sponsorship arrangements may include placement across:
City pages
Category pages
Editorial content
Recommendation sections
Special guides
Other relevant Metropolitan Unlimited properties
Metropolitan Unlimited maintains editorial independence over sponsored placements and surrounding editorial content.
As the publication evolves, Metropolitan Unlimited may reasonably modify page layouts, navigation, positioning, or presentation while preserving the material value and general purpose of the purchased sponsorship.
Sponsorship does not guarantee traffic, leads, sales, search rankings, or other business outcomes.
9. Payments, Payment Plans & Refund Policy
All Sales Are Generally Final
Unless otherwise expressly stated in writing, payments for Metropolitan Unlimited listings, editorial features, sponsorships, and promotional services are non-refundable once purchased.
Businesses should review the applicable offer, pricing, inclusions, and these terms before submitting payment.
Editorial Rejection
If Metropolitan Unlimited determines during its initial editorial review that your business cannot be featured and substantive work has not begun, payments made specifically for the rejected feature will be refunded.
Customer Cancellation
Payments are not refundable because a business:
Changes its mind
Decides it no longer wants the feature
Fails to complete required questionnaires or interviews
Fails to provide requested information or media
Does not use or share the finished feature
Disagrees with editorial decisions that are consistent with these terms
Experiences changes in ownership, staffing, marketing plans, finances, or business operations
Closes, relocates, or materially changes its business after work has begun
Alternative Services or Credit
When a purchased feature or placement cannot reasonably be completed after work has begun, Metropolitan Unlimited may, when appropriate, offer the amount paid as a credit toward another eligible Metropolitan Unlimited service, listing, feature, placement, or promotional opportunity.
Any substitute service or credit offered will be determined based on the circumstances, work already performed, and amount paid.
Credits and alternative services are not cash refunds unless Metropolitan Unlimited expressly agrees otherwise in writing.
Payment Plans
When a payment plan is selected, the payment plan represents a method of paying the total purchase price and is not a month-to-month subscription.
Unless otherwise stated at checkout, selecting a payment plan commits the purchaser to the full stated purchase price.
Cancellation of participation does not automatically cancel the remaining balance owed.
10. Production & Publication Timelines
Any production or publication timeframe provided by Metropolitan Unlimited is an estimate unless a specific deadline is expressly guaranteed in writing.
Publication timing may depend on:
Completion of questionnaires
Interview availability
Receipt of photographs and business information
Fact-checking
Editorial workload
Publication scheduling
Necessary revisions or clarification
Delays caused by missing or incomplete information may extend the publication timeline.
11. Business Review & Corrections
Participating businesses may be given an opportunity to review relevant factual information before publication.
This review is intended to identify factual inaccuracies—not to transfer editorial control to the business.
Metropolitan Unlimited retains final authority over wording, headlines, organization, tone, formatting, photographs, internal links, and editorial presentation.
Reasonable corrections to factual errors may be requested after publication.
12. Updates to Published Information
Businesses may request reasonable updates to important factual information, including:
Website links
Contact information
Operating hours
Business location
Ownership information
Material changes to products or services
Requests may be reviewed before publication of the update.
Substantial rewrites, rebranding, new ownership, major changes in business direction, or requests that materially change the original feature may require additional editorial services or fees.
13. Removal Requests
Businesses may request removal of their listing or feature by contacting Metropolitan Unlimited.
Voluntary removal requested by the participating business does not entitle the business to a full or partial refund.
Metropolitan Unlimited also reserves the right to remove content when necessary to protect editorial integrity, maintain accuracy, comply with law, or enforce these terms and our editorial standards.
14. Featured in Metropolitan Unlimited Badge
Businesses that receive qualifying published editorial features may be provided with a Metropolitan Unlimited digital feature badge or graphic.
The badge may be displayed on the participating business's website, social media, email marketing, and other business communications for the purpose of accurately communicating that the business has been featured.
The badge:
Remains the intellectual property of Metropolitan Unlimited
May not be materially altered
May not be used to imply an endorsement, award, certification, partnership, or guarantee that Metropolitan Unlimited has not provided
Should link to the applicable Metropolitan Unlimited feature when displayed digitally where reasonably practical
Metropolitan Unlimited may revoke permission to use the badge if the associated feature is removed or the badge is being used in a misleading manner.
15. Metropolitan Unlimited Intellectual Property
Original content created by Metropolitan Unlimited—including editorial articles, business descriptions, headlines, graphics, designs, layouts, photographs owned by Metropolitan Unlimited, and other original materials—is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.
Purchasing a feature does not transfer ownership of the Metropolitan Unlimited article or other Metropolitan Unlimited-created intellectual property to the participating business.
Businesses are encouraged to share and link to their feature.
Businesses may:
Link directly to the original Metropolitan Unlimited article
Share the article through social media
Include links to the feature in newsletters and email marketing
Reference the feature on their website or press page
Use an authorized Featured in Metropolitan Unlimited badge according to these terms
Unless separately authorized in writing, businesses may not reproduce the complete article on another website, substantially copy the article, remove Metropolitan Unlimited attribution, sell or license the content, or alter it in a manner that misrepresents the original publication.
16. Results & No Guarantees
Metropolitan Unlimited features, listings, and sponsorships are designed to provide editorial exposure, visibility, discoverability, and promotional opportunities.
However, marketing and editorial exposure cannot guarantee specific business results.
Metropolitan Unlimited does not guarantee:
A particular number of article views
Website traffic
Phone calls or inquiries
Leads
New customers
Sales or revenue
Social media engagement
Search engine rankings
Search engine indexing
Backlink value or domain-authority changes
Media coverage by other publications
All services are provided on a best-effort basis according to the purchased package and Metropolitan Unlimited's editorial standards.
17. Changes to the Publication
Metropolitan Unlimited is an evolving digital publication.
Website design, navigation, categories, URLs, page layouts, city structures, content organization, and promotional formats may change over time.
Metropolitan Unlimited may make reasonable changes to the platform without such changes constituting a failure to provide the purchased service, provided the material benefits and applicable publication commitments of the purchased product are maintained.
18. Acceptance of These Terms
By submitting payment for a listing, feature, sponsorship, or other paid Metropolitan Unlimited opportunity, you acknowledge that:
You have reviewed the description of the product or service being purchased
You understand the applicable publication period and payment terms
You understand that Metropolitan Unlimited retains editorial control
You understand that business results are not guaranteed
You understand and agree to the applicable refund and cancellation terms
You are authorized to make the purchase on behalf of the participating business or organization
